Broaching is a machining process that uses a special toothed tool, called a broaching tool, with progressively increasing teeth to remove material through a linear movement against the workpiece. This operation is performed on a specialized broaching machine. It is much faster than milling or turning and can perform both roughing and finishing in a single pass.
